Finally have some time to enjoy some of the North Woods pleasures. I will be doing a solo overnight, hot tenting on the back forty, soaking in some mother nature. After the last blog, it is time to go out in nature and get that close connection that can only be had by being out in it, and doing it. Pictures and blogs are great, but being out in the woods and spending time there is what makes it special.
Home for the night. Everything is done for the most part, fire wood stacked (enough for the night anyway), hemlock bow bed is made, dinner is ready to be started here in a while, and I have been kicking back reading a bit of Camping and Woodcraft by Horace Kephart.
“A man can stand almost any hardship by day, and be none the worse for it, provided he gets a comfortable nights rest; but without sound sleep he will soon go to pieces, no matter how gritty he may be.” (H Kephart)
